Partridge in a Pear Tree...not!

I went looking for a partridge in a pear tree today. I couldn't find a pear tree anyway. However, the dogs did a phenomenal job finding, pointing, backing, and retrieving both Chukar and Huns today. I actually had Harley pointing a covey of Huns and Jazz and Milly honoring. I moved in on the covey, dogs standing, and the covey flushed. I lined up the birds and shot, as I went to shoot the next bird and double, that bird fell before I shot, Dropped two birds with one shot.
The Chukar  covey was above me on the hill. I could here Jazz beeper going off but couldn't get there.  The covey flushed right over me.....

December pheasant hunt

Ok, so my brother made fun of me because my truck tailgate has more pictures with birds on it then any truck in America. So I stopped and took some pictures not on my truck.  Dogs were awesome today, we pointed 2 birds on the way to one of my favorite spots and then pointed and shot the 3rd on the way back to the truck.
I also tested out the new sylmar sleeve on Jazz leg.  She had had a hotspot on there all season, so I tried one out.  Seemed to help alittle.
Picture quality wasn't as good, the dogs and I have to work on our field pictures.

The Mountain Quail portion of the trip...

Well, this part was educational to say the least. We saw some great scenery and hipunt d in some beautiful country.  We spent a lot of time near clear cuts. We saw one single, two covets and had a few points on the quail. We took 1 bird, I was the guy that got the bird,

Waterfalls while hunting!

A quick hunt in the snow.

The weekend before thanksgiving weekend I snuck out in the snow.  It was a wild and wooly hint.  Tracks everywhere, pheasant flushing wild.  We were able to scratch one rooster down.  I didn't take any shots on wild flushes.
This old boy was full of Russian Olives

Idaho and a Oregon 2014 part 2

We spent a day chasing chukkar and the last part of the day trip on quail in eastern Oregon.  Of course, I didnt take enough pictures we did okay on chukkar. The main area we went to hunt had been destroyed by fire.

Milly, she had an amazing point on a covey I doubled on.  This isn't it.

Cold wet day

Had plans to hunt with Kuta....the weather didn't let me keep going.  I turned around and stopped  and hunted a spot on the reservation on the way back.  Saw lots of birds. They were nervous and wild.

Chukkar Hunt

I took a lunch break and went hunting on a hill just off the freeway on the way home the other day.  The dogs hunted well.  I doubled on a covey that all 3 of them either pointed or honored.  Never found the 2nd.
We found the same covey 3 more  times.  I just couldn't hit anything to prove it.

Limit of Roosters

This was actually from last week....Had a great day in a spot where I flush the birds out of the cat-tails and go hunt em out of the fields.  I actually got a point and retrieve out of he cat-tails from Harley.  Jazz and Milly ponyed bird number two (Milly retrieved) and Harley and Milly teamed up for bird #3, Harley tracked him down and retrieved, when I thought I might lose him.   It was a phenomenal quick bird hunt!

The long tail was just over 24 inches.
