Happy Halloween. Had a beautiful day today. Dogs were incredible. Missing is the Hun that Jazz pointed that fell out of my pack. Perfect conditions, the birds still ran a lot but we managed to pin down a two man limit, and a bonus Sharptail.

Burrs per Bird?..
How many burrs do your dogs have to get to get 1 nice rooster? Today it was too many to count?...saw a moose as well. Different habitat today. Lots of birds, was always standing or kicking them out from in front of me dogs in the one place I couldn't shoot. Great time anyway. Harley and a Milly pointed this rooster today. Jazz had more finds today but this was e one good shot I had.

A full day...
I took a full day off from work and hunted hard yesterday with a buddy. Harley had an excellent day and I didn't hardly get any pictures of her. It was a beautiful day, alittle warm but great dog work all day.
Milly retrieving a Sharptail she pointed.

The genetics where I shot this bird are special. 24.5 inch tail feather

Chasing Idaho roosters around.
Had a beautiful evening hunt last night and another this morning with my hunting buddy and his son, my dad and my brother. Sharptail, Huns, and pheasant today. Only pheasant last night. We hunted hard, it was definitely an Idaho pheasant hunt. We even put my moms fall decorations to use for some good photos.
Huns, Sharptail, and pheasant.
Jordan with a nice rooster, Milly pointed this one really nice!
Evening hunt we did the night before. Nick, Hallie, and my dad and I.

The pheasant won today!
Well it was warm and we saw alot of birds. Couldn't get close to them tonight. Shot 2. Lost one. Milly tracked down the one we found at 100 yards away. One of those days. When we got done the dogs (usually line up for pictures) were spent. I didn't even try to make them line up. Found a nice 5 point white tail shed and pointed a bunch of hens.

Chukar and Sharpies
How about this mixed bag? Went chukar hunting. Dogs did pretty good. Milly even pointed a sharptail. Jazz nailed down either one big covey of chukar or two decent size ones. It got me thinking, how many places can young and shoot this mix in the same walk? I've done it a couple times now. Feeling Blessed!

Burrs
When it takes more to clean the Burrs then then Birds....believe it or not there were probably 19 times as many burrs before I took the picture.
Reservation is open.
Before and after pictures. Our season on the Indian reservation is open. I must have had 10 points over birds I couldn't tell what they were. Dogs did great today. I actually wiffed on two of the easiest shots you could ever have.

Miscellaneous Grouse photos from 2015 early season
Pretty Good Day!
Sage pointing ghosts. Still great to see it coming together....
I got rained out most of this Hunt. But it was still rewarding.
Another new place
While hiking and exploring on the mountain bikes I found a new place to hunt.
It turned out being pretty great! Took two nice Ruffs on this hunt.
More 2015 Grouse Hunting highlights Hunting with Madison!
My daughter Madison with a big Ruff she took. The dogs took out the tail feathers retrieving it.

Need I say more!
Sharptail Opener 2015
I was able to get a bird dogs and fly fishing buddy out on Sharptail this year. Maurice got his first 2 sharpies and I shot 1 as well. It was hot but we had some decent dog work. Jazz had the best point and I cut some feathers but didn't drop it.
