I finally got some Bob white quail in Illinois on Christmas Eve!

Last Day in Idaho 2013

Went on a quail hunt.  Got my brother Richard and Lee's son Jordan their first valley quail.

Thanksgiving In Idaho day 1 and 2

Spent 5 days in Idaho over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Got quite a bit of bird hunting in. Here are the highlights of day 1and 2.

The dogs had a great point and retrieve on a late season ruff grouse!

Woodcock aka Timberdoodle

We went on an Illinois quail hunt today. Total bust, we did however get into the dogs and Riley and I's first Woodcock. Dogs were pointing and retrieving them like they had hunted them before.

Retrieving Training with Jazz

Jazz loves to chase down the quail I have been training her with. We toss it in the trailer so she cannot run off, she is a puppy and likes to play still so we limit where she can go.

Missouri Bobwhite

First one!  Took me most of the afternoon. Dogs got into a covey. We split em up and had 4 good points and only one good shot.

Milly had a great morning despite the wet. I got an early limit with her. She pointed a group of roosters I doubled on.

Another day of Mountain Grouse

Had another great day grouse hunting with Milly and Harley.   One point the dogs went on, it took me so long to get there the bird hoppe up in the tree above the dogs and the dogs sat down and waited. Not a great picture but a great memory.

Jazz the newest addition to the team!

Jazz is our newest member of the hunting team. Another Brittany, a pick of the litter from a former dog of mine Cocoa.

Columbian Sharptail grouse hunting

Went out chasing Sharpies with Alex and Cameron on separate hunts.  Had some amazing dog work. Milly had some great finds and points. Harley had one good one.  Alex's dog Jewel and the Brits got us into a good group that Alex and I both took a bird from. One of the beauties of growing up where I did is chasing Columbian sharptail grouse.

Lee and I had a great quick run for Ruff Grouse. The scenery was amazing. Found some trophy birds and had a blast!

Tribute to Pepper

This last month I had to do one of the hardest things I have had to do in a while.  My faithful Brittany Pepper had to be put down after almost 12 years of chasing birds with me.  This slides show, doesn't scratch the surface on all the good times we had, nevertheless it is for her and the memories I will forever. She will be missed, but never forgotten,
