A quick morning hunt produced lots of birds and action this morning. This picture with Jazz on point and Harley and Milly back produced two birds about 10 yards into the cover. No shots on those. All 3 Britts pointed and found birds today.

MONTANA 2018
Spent 2.25 days on quick run to Montana. What was supposed to be a simple hunt in one area turned into a big old drive. Hunters everywhere and bird numbers in our areas mediocre. We decided to check out the forest grouse of Montana. Turned out being an amazing experience with some great dog work, saw bears, Turkey, deer, pheasant and took 5 species of upland game.

IDAHO GROUSE OPENER 2018
Beautiful opener...moved a lot of grouse. We were selective and picky about the dog work. Jazz and Milly impressed me very much working this mature bird several times and pointing it 3 times. Berries were the key today.

4th of July Fishing
I had a phenomenal Day celebrating 4th of July fly fishing one of our favorite little lakes that we hike into early in the morning. We (Lee, Shane, Jordan, Byant, and I) caught tons of fish and the real success for dry flies was the Black Humpy. There was a small caddis hatch coming off and they had a dark body. Matched it up the best I could and I couldn't stop catching fish. That fly caught so many fish and got destroyed, however the more beat up it got, the better it did.

Another great day!
Well, this year continues to be amazing. Lee and I went out for a morning pheasant hunt and did well. The dogs were amazing and birds were pretty abundant. We took a 2 man limit on pheasant. I also shot a hun pointed by Jazz and Milly. Great day.

Huns and pheasants
Snuck out for a couple hours today with Josh. We were able to scratch down a few roosters and the Huns that I shot were a scotch double on a point over Jazz! I think the greatest thing about the day is that all the birds we took were pointed.
Big old rooster 25.5
Harley and Jazz both pointed this rooster for me and Milly with the retrieve this bird ended up having a 25 and a half inch tail feather.
